5 Reasons Why Buying a Peloton is Worth It
I think I visited the Peloton website 50 times before I finally decided to purchase one, and I am so glad I did. With my workouts shifting to my own home in the last year, my home gym was well equipped with adjustable dumbbells, kettlebells, a plyometric box, an olympic weightlifting bar, bumper plates, and resistance bands, but I wanted something to be able to get a little cardio in. Enter the Peloton. Here are 5 reasons why buying a Peloton is worth it.
The cost is less than you’d pay for a monthly membership to a cycling studio. The initial cost of the bike is around $2,000 and the monthly app fee is $40. Assume 3 year life, that’s about $95/month.
It is not JUST cycling classes. The Peloton app has running workouts (both treadmill and outside), strength, HIIT, yoga, and meditation.
Too hot or too cold is NO excuse not to get a workout in. It snowed over 2’ in Denver a few weeks ago, so running outside was out of the question. Instead, I just walked down into the basement and got a 60-min Hills ride done.
Short or long workouts are available. Every workout you do does not have to be an hour long. There are 20 minute rides, 90 minutes rides and everything in between.
Competition is there! I thought I would miss the leaderboards cycling studios have, but Peloton allows you to see where you rank among people currently taking the class or among everyone who has ever taken the class. It is a nice little push when you are neck and neck with someone in a class and you know you need to push just a little harder on the last track.
